GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

School Meals

School Lunch

All children from Reception to Year 2 receive free school meals. Children in Year 3 to Year 6 may also opt for a school meal which should be paid for, unless your child is in receipt of Free School Meals provision. If you think that your child may be eligible, please contact the School Office. School meals cost £2.35 and are payable via Parentpay.

School meals are provided by Chartwells and menus are sent out in advance.

We have a 3 week rolling menu for our school lunches - the dates are at the top of each menu page.

Please see attached to the link the Autumn 2022 menu.

***Please note that due to the conflict with Russia and Ukraine, there may be a disruption to  the supply chain, therefore the menu is subject to change.***

A Healthy Lunchbox

If you choose for your child to have a packed lunch, please ensure it is a healthy lunchbox with food that creates a balanced diet. No chocolates or nuts should be included.

Please ensure that your child's lunchbox is clearly labelled with their name and class.

  • Snacks such as crisps should not be included (unless they are healthy crisps). Instead, include vegetables and fruit (with no added salt, sugar or fat). Savoury crackers or breadsticks served with fruit, vegetables or dairy food are also a good choice.
  • Confectionery such as chocolate bars, chocolate-coated biscuits and sweets should not be included. Cakes and biscuits are allowed but these should be part of a balanced meal.
  • Starchy food, such as bread or pasta, rice, couscous, noodles, potatoes or other cereals, should be included every day.
